Expo History

The origins of a new age, alternative lifestyle and natural products "Expo" can be traced back to the days of the Whole Earth Catalog, a widely popular alternative mail order catalog dating to the early 1970s. The Whole Earth Company began to produce the Whole Earth Expo and by 1975 the Whole Earth Expo was an established tradition in the counter culture of the time.

Other shows arose coincident with the Whole Earth Expo's success. In 1982, Alan Goldman began producing shows for the National Health Federation. At the same time, Joseph Cotler had founded the Whole Life Times and hired Alan to produce an Expo for the Whole Life Times-the first Whole Life Expo. By 1983 they were doing shows in New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco.

In 1985, Joseph sold rights to the Los Angeles market to Paul Andrews and, in 1987, the San Francisco market to Ken Kaufman. They proceeded to expand the Whole Life Expos into cities across the country, bringing these ideas to a wider public and helping to establish a nationwide community focused on alternative health and alternative ideas

Robert Quicksilver has continued in that tradition and produces the Conscious Life Expo, Los Angeles.  The production team is now gearing up for the '07 Conscious Life Conference and Exposition, bringing to Los Angeles the cutting edge of new thought, new paradigms, and new consciousness.
