FREE PANEL DISCUSSION Social Justice & Non-Violient Communication In Business This panel will demonstrate how to deal effectively, positively and non-confrontationally in all potentially challenging situations in the workplace, including with co-workers, employers, employees, unions, city and state government, etc. and came into being as a positive solution in dealing with topics such as the recent Living Wage issue.
According to Audrey Philpot, organizer of the event, organizers of the Expo were inspired to add this additional element to the business symposium aspect of the Expo, to bring to light challenges addressing larger social concerns from the perspective of a higher awareness. Philpot compares the conflict that businesses could be drawn into as having similar elements, struggles and damage as the worldwide conflicts and wars that we face in our world today. Using tools of non-violent communication and thinking styles technology to move parties into conflict resolution, presenters will explore ways and means to deal with these issues with fairness and awareness in an atmosphere where all parties feel they are being heard. The presenters will demonstrate how to break the cycle of submitting and rebelling that many conflicts become entrenched thus moving to mutual win for all parties. These techniques have been proven in war torn countries to lead to resolutions without the usual escalation of hostilities. Panelists will include Symposium presenters and special Expo guests including William M. Stierle and Scott Catamas, both noted conflict-resolution specialists. |
