Medicine Dancing

All lectures require a Day Pass to attend.

In indigenous cultures, dance is not a performance but a meditation for the dancer. Marsha Scarbrough has participated in marathon dance fasts with Native American medicine teacher Beautiful Painted Arrow/Joseph Rael. In this lecture, she shares her experiences and explains the relevance of dance as meditation to our contemporary lives. Time and space permitting, participants may be invited to experience an abbreviated version of a medicine dance.

Marsha Scarbrough is a Santa Fe-based journalist who has traveled with Buddhist teacher Joan Halifax, danced with movement guru Gabrielle Roth, earned a brown belt in karate from martial arts legend Tak Kubota.'
