In this workshop, Osha will talk about how the yoga asanas as taught in the Iyengar Yoga tradition can be useful for a variety of physical ailments. She will talk about how specific asanas or poses can be used for back issues, sciatic issues, hips, knees, digestion, and many other conditions. She will also look at the effect of the postures on the emotional body and various healing states. During the majority of this class, Osha will talk about and demonstrate these postures. She will occasionally invite participants to try out a few, simple postures, but will make this class accessible to people who have never tried yoga before. Please come prepared to ask questions as Osha leads you in an in-depth discussion of how to work physically with your health concerns. Please note that as this is more of an interactive lecture than a yoga class, street clothes are appropriate and yoga props are not neccessary.
